Day 1 - Monday, July 17

Welcome to Provence, France

Gorges de la Nesque
HC Bike Tours’ owner and the rest of the team will meet you at the airport in the morning. From there you will be provided with a transfer to our hotel. A bit later, our team will help you to set up your bicycle. An enjoyable picnic lunch will be served after which we will take off for a warm-up ride through Gorges de la Nesque - one of the French balcony roads, very spectacular and popular with cyclists. We will take several coffee stops just to soak in the atmosphere of Provence. In the evening, you will start to explore local cuisine.

Infamous Mont Ventoux….

Mont Ventoux
Yes, yes, yes, this is a day when you are going to climb one of the most popular Tour de France`s climbs – Mont Ventoux. You will start this morning with a superb breakfast and off we go. We will ride the Mont Ventoux from its most famous side and go down on the other side. If you wish, you will be able to ride it twiceJ Well done! It`s time for dinner.

The best of Provence

Georges du Verdon => Col d’Allos => Pra Loup
Be ready for a long and fantastic day! Provence is famous with its lavender fields and spectacular gorges and you will get it all and, in addition, you will climb two famous climbs Col d’Allos and Pra Loup. Add to all this several coffee stops at local boulangeries and great dinner in Pra Loup and you will never forget this day.

Col de Vars => Col d’Izoard (TdF LIVE)
Stage 18 will be the last mountain stage and, hopefully, it is going to be a decisive battle for the Yellow Jersey. You will ride both climbs of this Stage just few hours before the peloton and you will watch the race LIVE at Col d’Izoard in our race viewing area. Your dreams will come true!

LIVE Start of Stage 19 in Embrun…

LIVE Stage 19 Start => Col de Manse => Col de l’Holme => Col de Parquetout => Col d’Ornon
Today, we will head to the village of Embrun to witness the Tour LIVE at the start line. Some photos and off the pros go just as we do. We will ride several short climbs before the last climb of today and the first climb of Stage 17Col d’Ornon. Dinner and recovery time to get ready for something special tomorrow.

Alpe d’Huez => Col du Sarenne
Go and get it! Another legendary climb of the Tour – Alpe d’Huez. It is going to be a challenging and interesting ride. We added Col du Sarenne to the Alpe d’Huez climb also several really scenic roads on our way back to the hotel. You will love it!

La Marmotte granfondo route

Col de la Croix de Fer => Col du Telegraphe => Col du GALIBIER
Rich breakfast is a good choice. We are going to ride the route of one of the most famous granfondos in France – La Marmotte. It is a really demanding ride with two long and demanding climbs including this stunning climb - Col du Galibier. This is also the route of Stage 17. You did it! Let us surprise you with farewell dinner.

We know what the best ride support is. Get on your bike and enjoy the ride! We do the rest:
  • We are ex-Pro riders, professional coaches, mechanics, experienced Ride Leaders. We will provide you with professional support, guide and encourage you through every ride, even make photos, be your coaches and make sure you have the best picnic stops in the world
  • We ride in small ride-groups of up to 7 riders per group, which allows us to keep the group together and provide full support with less waiting time
  • Each ride-group is led by an HC Bike Tours Ride Leader and one SAG van per ride-group is provided
  • If you become tired at any point, you have an option to use van transfer
  • An experienced mechanic will be available to assist in case of trouble with your bike
  • We will provide you with on-road supplements including local fresh bread, cheese, meet, fruit, snacks, energy bars, and drinks will be available any time
